Papa John's Ordered to Change 'Better' Slogan

A Federal District Court judge ruled that Papa John's "Better ingredients. Better pizza" slogan is deceptive and misleading. The judge ordered the chain to cease using the phrase, as well as the use of the word "better," in any future campaigns. Papa John's said it would appeal the ruling. The suit had been brought by competitor Pizza Hut, which also sought $12.5 million in damages. The judge awarded $467,619 to Pizza Hut. Papa John's agency, Fricks/Firestone, here did not return calls.
