The VPP is a two-week fellowship for professors of advertising, marketing, communications and the liberal arts that exposes professors to the day-to-day operations of an advertising agency, a marketing or media company. Professors return to the classroom and teach their subject with more authority.
Components of the program are a two-day orientation followed by an eight-day internship. During the internship, professors are asked to give a Lunchtime Lecture on his/her area of expertise and how it relates to advertising.
Thanks to the generosity of the companies listed below, 16 professors were hosted by ad agencies in New York City and Chicago during July 2010. In addition, three senior-level Career Services administrators participated in the two-day orientation portion of the VPP.

Quotes
“My VPP experience was wonderful. I was exposed to all of the agency’s departments and functions. I am sure the practical knowledge that I have gained through my stint at Y&R will prove to be beneficial for my students. Because of this program I can share with my students a lot of practical knowledge beyond what's given in the text books.”
-- Professor Anshu Arora
“It is hard for me to express how grateful I am for the opportunity I was given to take part in the agency orientation phase of the VPP. The excellent presentations by R/GA, JWT and Ogilvy deepened my understanding of so many aspects of the advertising industry. This valuable two-day immersion will have a significant impact on the quality and sophistication of my career advising with in the advertising field.”
-- Dighton Spooner, Career Planning Center
“The VPP orientation was terrific. The speakers had an impressive knowledge of their subject, in part because you were able to book department heads and the like. The contrast between agencies was striking and very important for someone like me who is just now learning the lay of the land. Without this sort of introduction, my first day at the agency would have been incoherent.” -- Professor Jennifer Lena
