Dr. Fels is a practicing psychiatrist. She has won multiple awards for her
teaching and clinical skills including the fellowship to the American College
of Psychiatrists and the Consultation-Liaison Award of the Payne-Whitney Clinic.
She is the representative of the psychiatric faculty at the Faculty Council
of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University at New York Presbyterian
Hospital
Dr. Fels has written on psychiatric and medical topics for the New York Times
Book Review, The (London) Times Literary Supplement, The Nation, Self, the Science Times section of The New York Times, and most
recently the Harvard Business Review. This spring she published
Necessary Dreams: Ambition in Women's Changing Lives (Pantheon).
